June 2021 - A Message from Dr. Reid . . .
Dear Friends of Reid Family Dentistry,
There is a major change here at 4213 Columbia Road in Martinez, GA!
Many patients have asked when Dr. Reid is going to retire and his answer has been, “When the Lord lets me know it’s time.” Well, it’s getting close to time. Having turned 70 on his last birthday, he is merging his dental practice with the practice of Adam J. Doss, DMD, PC this summer.
Dr. Reid will be at the office much less but will assist Dr. Doss as needed. Their professional and personal philosophies are very similar. As a skilled and experienced dentist, Dr. Doss will continue to take good care of patients’ dental needs.

UPDATE: April 2021: COVID-Related Office Procedures
Reid Family Dentistry continues to provide routine care. Due to the pandemic, we are operating under recommended protocols and mandated restrictions. Our infection control processes are in place to keep our patients as safe and comfortable as possible. We follow current recommendations of the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
CONSENT FOR TREATMENT
Dental care has been defined as a high risk profession during this pandemic. We have made changes to help protect our patients and our dental care team. Even with these precautions there is still an inherent risk in healthcare settings. By coming for care you are giving your implied consent that you willfully accept that risk.APPOINTMENTS
Call 706-868-6177 to schedule new or reschedule appointments. Appointments are managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you are offered fewer options for scheduling.GUESTS
We ask that when you come for your appointment, you come alone, and that any guests you bring with you wait in the car.CHECKING IN
The CDC currently recommends, and Dr. Reid requires, that all patients arrive at their appointment wearing a mask or homemade facial covering that securely fits around the nose and mouth. This will help protect our staff and other patients. We'll take your temperature to be sure it's not elevated, and ask a few screening questions.SANITATION BEFORE DENTAL CARE
When you enter the office, we ask you to wash your hands with soap and water in the patients' lavatory. We'll also ask you to rinse your mouth with a dental solution of diluted hydrogen peroxide for 60 seconds, then spit. DO NOT SWALLOW THE HYDROGEN PEROXIDE SOLUTION.RECEPTION ROOM
In order to minimize the number of patients in the reception room you may be required to wait in your car. You will need to wear your mask or face covering when not seated in the dental chair.ADDITIONAL PRECAUTIONS FOR COVID-19
The main concern in dental care related to COVID-19 is the aerosol spray that occurs during certain dental procedures. Depending on the procedure we're doing for you, you may see us wearing some combination of special masks, face shields, plastic gowns, and/or head coverings.
We hope you and your family are in good health. Our community has been through a lot since the beginning of 2020. While many things have changed, one thing remains the same: our commitment to your health and safety. We appreciate your patience and look forward to seeing you again on a regular basis.
David E. Reid, D.D.S., L.L.C
Patient Care Philosophy
This is the Lord’s office, and we will honor Him.
We will treat patients with gentle kindness;
We will provide service worthy of its cost;
We will not “sell” care, only inform patients of their needs;
We will not sacrifice quality of care to stay on a schedule;
We will not worry about business for the sake of “making money” simply because…
This is the Lord’s office, and we will honor Him.
Matthew 6: 24-34
